Homespun poetry that makes people happy.

Dad’s Harvest of Memories

My Dad, Dan Hoover had an incredible talent which I am sharing for everyone to enjoy. Born into a large farm family in western Illinois, he plowed corn fields behind horses and walked miles to attend high school in Jacksonville. The first in his family to have a formal education, he found a job in the office of the Illinois Power Company where he became interested in what he observed and worked his way up from an office boy to an electrical engineer. As years passed, he began writing poetry and short stories, many of which were published. Dad received the most pleasure by writing and sharing poetry for friends and family. Thanks to modern technology, I am able to continue sharing his talent. This site will grow with poetry to appeal to all readers.

From:  Carole Hoover Allen:  I dedicate this site and its poems to my family and to the memories of my Dad, my mother, Goldie,  my brother, Danny and husband Bill.
